ABOUT ME

Well to be fair, I might be rather on the grumpy side. But to give myself some credit, I grumble in a particularly affable way. I am doing a phd and teaching Anthropology at a university. Being an anthropologist, I am almost addicted to being surrounded by folks from all over. I lived/ studied in the UK and in Taiwan. I am rather passionate about peace and quiet (I realise that is a contradiction in terms).

PHILOSOPHY

I find that the bland and boring are under-rated. I have no desire to develop an 'interesting philosophy' for myself.

Actually, while trying to recall my interests I have had the idea of collecting motivational calendars. I am starting that tomorrow. That is like 'sooo me'.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I would love to count all the bucket list classics here like: bungee jumping, skydiving... I can't even think of a third one. Instead however I have consumed copious amounts of tea (I often add various herbs and spices). Honestly, I don't like the idea of picking my top 5 amazing moments. I can be fascinated for hours about cocktail canapés if I am in the right mood. I particularly like them when the crunchy element is balanced just right with the soft texture of the bread.

I am an aspiring chef and musician (amateur interests). So I can talk almost endlessly about recipes. I love cooking for appreciative guests (or those who can convincingly pretend to be so). I have absolutely no musical training, but I have been playing guitar for over 10 years. I have an intuitive thing going on with it. I would be happy to jam with anyone who has an instrument. Also since I am in academy, one of my greatest pleasures in life, is conversing with others in diverse fields and compare notes. And yes as embarrassing as it sounds I have been known to recall page numbers and footnotes in states of extreme inebriation.
