About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be boring, lame, annoying

ABOUT ME

I believe that Paris Hilton is most likely -- if we were to apply rigorous analytic criteria, worthy of any true academic -- our greatest contemporary philosopher. If we, for example, take her insight, "THAT'S HOT", we quickly realize that not only is it an insightful reframing of the ancient pre-Socratic Weltanschauung, but it presents it in a way that is immediately accessible to all. Plus she's hot.

PHILOSOPHY

Polonius said, "Brevity is the soul of wit". But Polonius was meant to be a figure of mockery, whom everyone laughed at, who spouted cliches but didn't get the real world. Therefore, I strive for the opposite: to be as long-winded and unbearable as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will lower the level of any conversation I participate in. My apologies in advance; I try my hardest to improve.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted a few people already. No one ran away. Many got very drunk and laughed and laughed and laughed. Not laughing with me, but laughing AT me, of course. Also, I tend to subject couchsurfers who stay with me to listen to endless Serge Gainsbourg music. My apologies in advance. If you don't like Serge Gainsbourg, Please do NOT contact me, I will just not talk to you.

Interests

Systems integration. No that's a joke, I can't stand it. Did I say that I love the music of Serge Gainsbourg already? Yeah, I did.

Music, Movies, and Books

To say I read a lot would not be an understatement. I like books written before 1880-ish. There are a few exceptions, I happen to have really enjoyed George Orwell's collected letters. I generally don't watch television. I watch a movie annually; of the ~30-ish I've seen, my favorite is Groundhog Day. In fact, every day I feel like I'm reliving the same day. Not because my life is dull, but because I watch that movie day after day after day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I survived working in India. Holy f---, I don't know how.

Teach, Learn, Share

Vulcan -- the ugliest of the Greek Gods, the one who was the iron-worker and spent all his time building awesome ironworks -- he married Venus, the most beautiful of all the Goddesses. Isn't life awesome?
