About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Saving for financial independence and for some huge world trip
ABOUT ME
I am very friendly and optimistic (sometimes too much optimistic which should be dangerous for travellers) person, who loves fun, sport and traveling. I work as a coach of young ice-hockey players (which is the best job in the world, because every April and July I can travel for whole month. I live (and usually also travel) with my wife Beata, we are together from 2003, and we want to explore the world a little bit before we will have a children and of course even after that. I really love nature, so I love hiking and running in mountains, cycling through abandoned villages in countryside and relaxing on some small nice beaches without people with pure water. That is the way we travel, we try to avoid overcrowded places like big cities or touristic resorts. Sometimes I am also enjoying hitch-hiking when people in the cars speak english and when it is not forty degrees on the sun. I try to attend ultramarathons in mountains (if I am not injured) and train a lot to improve my condition.
I also love to make a multiday biketrips (I rode around Slovakia, Ukraine, Scotland and through Balcan), so I am also member of WarmShowers.org community, which is similar to CS, but especially for touring cyclists - if you like cycling, let ´s join us!
I am seriously intersted in healty nutrition and try to eat healthy since January 2015 (that doesnt mean I am a vegan, I just eat meat only two or three times per week... anyway, no sugar, no salt, no white flour, no fried food, no sausages, lot of fruits, wheat, beans, nuts, seeds and vegetables - it really helps against being sick and gives you much more energy and better mood).
PHILOSOPHY
I try to enjoy my life by jobs which I like plus saving as much as possible to retire as soon as possible and then spend my time only by doing things I really love. I dont spend money for consumer goods like iPods, cell phones, I dont need a car, I dont like parties. I like new adventures, new challenges and new experiences, I like to overcome myself in long distance races and I try to still improve myself as a ice hockey coach.
Always try to be gentle on good people and ignore the bad ones. Hate careerism, consumerism, violence, arrogance of powerfuls, politicians, alcoholics and people who disvalue their life. I like new challenges.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We definitely have enjoyed every host and every surfer who came to our not-very-popular-but-very-nice destination (sometimes I just feel that we are like motorest for people going from Prague to Krakow or in the opposite direction :-) ). To be honest, the first reason, why I joined to CS was to save money, but now it is absolutely about meeting new people with very same character as we have. I could even say that with each other CS experience, CouchSurfing becomes my lifestyle. At first we surfed more but now when there is an option to invite travellers around, more and more people come to Sumperk and I am happy that almost everybody likes it. It is also good for getting you out of daily routine. And I think that everybody can teach you something.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to be in Czech national ice hockey team under 18 years and for three years I was a proffesional icehockey player, now I am trying to teach young kids.
I passed one half marathon, two classic marathons and one very hard mountain marathon.
I rode 1700km in 13days (140km average per day) by heavyloaded bike through Balcan (from Kalambaka, Greece, through Albania, Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia to Budapest), which was my best travelling experience.
I translated investing bestsellers Stocks for the Long Run from Jeremy Siegel and Bull in China from Jim Rogers and wrote a book about investing - it consists of 13 interviews with popular czech portfolio managers, economists or investment consultants. It was quite hard work but it´s very inspiring to talk with such experienced people.
I jumped from 9 metres high rock into the river, while we were canyoning in Corsica and climbed on 4167m high mountain Djebel Toubkal, in Morrocco.
