Overview
About Me
I'm a student going for a second bachelor's degree. My original degree was in education and I was an elementary school teacher for two years. Now, I'm working towards a degree in biology. I throughly love learning and view traveling as a way to learn about the world and ourselves.
I love to talk politics, religion, culture, and all of the big topics! However, I also like to laugh at silly things as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So I can meet new people and learn about sites that are off the beaten path! I also think staying with the "locals" is a great way to immerse yourself in the culture and learn about it from a natural point of view.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most music other than heavy metal and will give most movies a chance except horror! At any moment I have anywhere from 3-10 books that I'm reading. I originally went to school as an English major, so I have experience with the classics, but also have a lot of background in children's literature seeing that I was a teacher.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Most of the amazing things I've done focus on teaching. I've taken an entire second grade class that was reading and doing math below level and brought them to above a second grade level in a matter of months. It was one of the best feelings in the world to see those kids light up and learn!
With that being said, I've surfed in Hawaii, mountain biked in Jackson, WY, and been hang gliding! All of these experiences make you feel alive!
Teach, Learn, Share
Simply being around others is a learning experience. I used to be a teacher, so teaching comes naturally to me. If we're talking and I remember a fun fact regarding the subject, I'll be sure to share it with you! I can teach swimming, about education, and of course English. I always appreciate learning anything!
As for sharing, I can bring you a souvenir from my home in Texas, or even cook you a meal- I'm especially good at creating TexMex dishes!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share experiences from the US, along with stories of my travels. If you have an interest in bettering your English, learning more about parenting/teaching, or even swimming, I am actually certified in the states to teach all of that! If you want, I can even make us dinner!
