I'm a full time touring musician.
I've been traveling non-stop since March of 2008.

PHILOSOPHY

I strive to live the best life possible, and I see powerful activity as the crucial element of that life. I try do things that empower me and mine and make me grow, and try not to waste time with anything else.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't use CouchSurfing much these days, but once in a while I need a spot to crash in a town where I don't know folks.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I tour all the time, either as a solo performer, or with a band. I know folks all around, but sometimes I don't know anyone in the town I'm playing, and then I need a couch upon which to sleep.

I play music. I read and talk to people. I watch films and go to shows and listen to stuff. I love music, food, trampolines a hundred superficial pleasures that affect me deeply.

Too many to list, but my top authors are: Nietzsche, Adorno, Baudelaire, Benjamin, Greenberg, Dewey, Emerson, Kerouac, Bourdieu, Eliot. Favorite film directors are Lars Von Trier, Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard, David Lynch, François Truffaut, the Cohen Brothers. Favorite music? Most of the early stuff on the Constellation label, Beethoven, Joao Gilberto, and more than I could possibly think to list. Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

The northern lights in Iceland were one of the more phenomenal things I've ever witnessed. First saw them just outside of Reykjavik, Iceland. And again a few different times in Alaska (both in Fairbanks and Seward).

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

I used to teach philosophy and I've given bass lessons. I'd like to learn to cook and play capoeira. And the baritone sax. I'm slowly learning how to work on my van, but I'd like to learn more. Would love to learn more about nutrition too.
