Overview
About Me
What do I do? Find and tell stories that show how the world works. Made this my job, at least for the area around Chetek, Wisconsin.
How do I describe myself? I was adopted from South Korea and grew up in middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin. As a Wisconsinite, I love beer, cheese, nature, collective bargaining, and am extremely white (i love coffee, npr, and wear a pea coat in the winter).
Graduated from Luther College in 2012. Lived and worked in radio in Decorah, Iowa. Love that town. Now back in my hometown and working at a newspaper in the next town over.
I'm busy much of the time or working on various projects (mostly radio or community related). Also napping because naps are great.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Heard about CS from college friends and thought it'd be a cool way to spend a spring break. I couchsurfed with a friend spring break 2011, driving around the American West interviewing Couch Surfers for a radio journalism project. Got hooked and made the grade! Now I wish to return the hosting side of things for others because I don't have a whole lot of time to travel myself because, you know, life, work, etc.
I've been very impressed by every host and surfer I meet. Everyone is welcoming and trusting to new people, something I admire and believe should be paid forward.
Interests
Disc Golf, leisurely biking, camping now and again.
I'm a nerd for public radio. College radio will always have a place in my heart.
Homebrewing is recent addition to my interests. Two friends and a few rotating others make it a habit to brew a beer at least once a month.
