I'm a film editor based in Glasgow, UK. Previously I've lived in London, UK; Austin, Texas; and Porto Alegre, Brazil; I've also worked as a journalist and a copywriter. I'm a big film buff, with eclectic tastes, and likewise with music and literature. I like live music and theater, and also enjoy simple pleasures like having a pint in good company.

To meet people who enjoy making new friends in a casual way. I've hosted guests and been hosted prior to joining Couchsurfing.com. I love showing people around my town and being shown around places I didn't know. I've had a lot of fun doing it, and think this website could be a good way to do it more often.

Likewise, in my experience, adding a personal touch to accommodation arrangements is more enjoyable and reliable than taking a chance with B&Bs and youth hostels in places I've never been to. Online reviews can be conflicting, so they're always a gamble. By making it a more friendly exchange, everybody wins.

I share a two-bedroom flat with a fellow filmmaker, who shares my passion for cinema as well as my feelings about making new friends via couch surfing. We've both hosted people before and after becoming flatmates.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I've got a BA in English and my grammar is very good. If brushing up on your English is one of your motivations for traveling, I'd be glad to give you a hand. I'm pretty good with Photoshop and web design (I've designed my own website) as well. I can also play the drums, but don't worry, we don't currently have a kit in the flat. We keep the noise down so guests (and hosts) can sleep well.

Aside from the skills I've listed above, I can share an enthusiastic attitude and a congenial sense of humor that can tip a teeny tiny bit towards the sarcastic and the politically incorrect at times. But in a casual way: if hosting stand-up comedians is what you're looking forward to, I'd hate to disappoint you.
