About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel the world, but on a budget. I am probably one of the least spontaneous people I know, so I'm trying to break the mold and just get out there and go.
ABOUT ME
Like I said, normally I'm a stickler for planning things out; however, after this past year my international friends have inspired me to go wherever I may please and that sometimes, it's the spontaneous things in life that make for the best memories. I'm a bit of a worrier, and I like to have very specific plans, but I'm learning to go with the flow.
PHILOSOPHY
just a few things:
"On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux" ~Le renard (One only sees well with his heart. The essential is invisible to the eyes~The fox)
"Experience teaches only the teachable." ~Aldous Huxley
"Be true to your work, your word, and your friend." ~Henry David Thoreau
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted many international students since I was in middle school. I have had exchange students live with me for months at a time. I'm looking forward to being a host and being hosted by awesome people that will make awesome friends.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have yet to have any experiences with couch surfing, but I'm hoping for the best.
Interests
I love languages and I'm most passionate about French. I fell in love at the tender age of 11 and I have not stopped speaking and learning everything I can about French since then. I also speak Spanish (or try.) I love to travel and am excited about all my upcoming adventures to Europe and South America. I'm also interested in politics and I love to hear the opinions of others so long as both parties remain open-minded. I LOVE LOVE LOVE children and I want to work with them some day. Finally, I love being cultured.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing experience I had was working with blind children in the Dominican Republic this spring. It really changed my outlook on many different things, from the way Americans consume, to the education system, to foreign politics. It gave me the chance to experience something I will never again experience within my own, or any other culture. It was the most unique trip of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn how to knit. My sister is a fashion designer and an amazing seamstress, knitter, crochet, you name it, if it's crafty she can do it. Only, she doesn't have the patience or the time to teach me. So I'd like to learn from someone else.
I have learned that internationals really do make the best friends. My closest friends the past few years have all been international and I think it's because they have a better worldly outlook than most Americans. I despise ethnocentricity.
