About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel the world, teach and learn, self-employ to sustain and give back; to be relevant! And I want to be able to bring my parents overseas eventually so they can see what opportunities they've given me.

ABOUT ME

I love love.

I think that love is behind most of the decisions I make. Love for people, places, things, ideas, myself, experiences, the world. It sometimes gets me in trouble, but it also gets me to amazing places. Until now, the risk/reward has worked in my favor.

Aside from that, I like to move around a lot-- need constant stimulation. Guilty. Someday I hope I'll settle down. I don't know when or where, but I have a sneaking suspicion that love will be behind it.

I also have a deep interest in the stars, space and especially the Moon. My grandma tells me this has been going on since I was a child. It is a personal goal of mine to go to Space.

PHILOSOPHY

I look at life (and people) as made up of millions, billions, maybe an infinite amount of threads. These threads are what we weave together to form ourselves.

A thread can be anything that makes you you. Some of my threads: Brown hair, male, oldest of 4, American, actor, writer, teacher, traveler (I bet most of you reading this have this one!)...and the list goes on. These are some obvious threads, but there are more obscure ones, too.

It's my personal belief that whoever I meet--doesn't matter when where or how--that this person and I will share one thread, at the very least. Probably more...but at least one. We'll have one piece of each of us, no matter how tiny, that we will share.

In my mind, these threads are connected directly to my heart. So, if you can picture it, there is a direct line between my heart and the heart of whoever it is that I meet.

If you're good at Math (which I'm not), it's like the Transitive Property...if A = B and B = C, then A = C. i.e. If I'm connected to person B and person B is connected to person C, then I'm connected to person C, too.

It's this philosophy that leads me to believe that I am connected to every single person in the world in some way, big or small. And that makes me breathe a little easier when I travel. It also allows me to feel good about talking to and connecting with anyone.

I wish everyone thought this way. If they did, we'd look out for each other more. That's why I try to share my philosophy with as many people as possible, especially when I'm teaching. The younger you learn this, the better!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been a member here for many years, but I have never jumped into the community like I've wanted to. I am usually traveling with friends or living permanently in places so my opportunities to surf haven't been so many.

I'm bouncing around Europe for the summer and would really like to take advantage of this huge community that I've heard so many good things about. I look forward to getting started and making some new friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to the site specifically, but I've done a LOT of couch surfing on my own.

Most recently, I spent 6 weeks living on a couch in Playa del Rey, California. Made for one of the most memorable summers ever!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Come back to life.

When I was a baby, I had a serious health complication and my body shut itself down. I flat-lined and essentially stopped living in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. Once there, some amazing doctors did everything they could--needless to say, it worked. I have the scar to prove it.

I look at this life as my second chance, which is why I try and do everything possible to make the most of it!
