To gain travel experience and skills, while working toward building a small place of my own... somewhere.

I have worked for many animal shelters/veterinary clinics over the years. [I like animals]. I've lived in Kentucky and Maine. I've driven all around most of the 48 contiguous states.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted a few "official" Couchsurfers, and unofficially hosted many more, over the years. My old house was spacious, and we welcomed many guests, frequently. Although my new place is smaller, I still welcomes guests when I can.

Interests

Climbing trees, running, sewing, knitting, biking, kayaking, gardening, building things, kitties, doggies, driving, reading, board games, tattoos/tattooing, traveling, phonetics, spelling, grammar... ... hmm... this list could really just go on. I am interested in a great many things. [I would not say that I am necessarily great at many of them.]

Music, Movies, and Books

Books... I will read just about anything, and always become totally engrossed in it. I have recently read a couple by Simon Winchester... I enjoy the fact that his enormous vocabulary makes me refer to my favorite book-- the dictionary.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have driven through all the of the "drive-through" redwoods through which one can drive. I was once in front of Old Faithful, at midnight, when it erupted, (but I would not say that I was able to "see" it). I've traveled through 31 states in 17 days.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you how to cook ramen in more ways than you know. I am skilled in the art of spacial reasoning and organization. I have many skills at a Scrabble board. I have practical small-animal veterinary knowledge and animal handling skills.
