À propos de moi
CURRENT MISSION
To be a positive force.
ABOUT ME
I hate this part, but here we go. I'm a laid back guy who's always eager to meet new friends over coffee, drinks, or a friendly bar game! I like dogs, bonfires and thunderstorms (not necessarily all at once). I don't like margarine under any circumstances. I've been known to push the boundaries of good taste sometimes, but I'm usually pretty well-behaved...
I grew up on a small family farm in the Midwest, drifted towards the Rocky Mountains for college, and now I find myself living single-digit miles from the Continental Divide. I migrated throughout the Denver Metro area for several years after college, and eventually ended up working and living in Boulder. Now, Boulder is a fantastic city with endless outdoor recreation possibilities, as well as a reasonable nightlife (and if that's not enough, it's a $5, 30-minute bus ride to Denver, so...). However, the small-town kid in me crept back into the picture, and I've since shoved off into my new small, yet quirky, hometown in the mountains.
PHILOSOPHY
Basically... be open-minded, and treat people the way you'd like them to treat you. Listening is better than talking. I could elaborate, but, why...?
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've done a pretty balanced amount of hosting and surfing; sometimes it's for a night, sometimes for several days. While hosting, I'm happy to introduce travelers to my favorite local spots, be they restaurants, breweries, distilleries, mountaintops, and what have you. While surfing, I'll try to stay out of your hair if you need, but I'm definitely into traveling like a "local," so I prefer to hang out or at least get some beta on all the things that make your city or village unique.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had nothing but incredible experiences with Couchsurfing. Whether I'm crashing somewhere overnight mid-roadtrip, or hosting a surfer for the better part of a week, my faith in humanity is always restored just a little bit with every Couchsurfing encounter. My hosts have all been very accommodating, and my guests have been extremely courteous and respectful. Overall, it's a great community.
Centres d'intérêt
I can be talked into just about anything, but my major passions are the outdoors, and local food & drink. I love to hike and bike, and climb. Any combination of beer and outdoorsy stuff is generally a winner in my book. I'm also a big fan of bar games, except for foosball. Sweet Jesus, I suck at foosball...

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
Went on a road bike ride that took me near the edge of a raging wildfire, and got to be one of the last people to experience the beauty of a canyon that would be completely burned, not 24 hours later.
