About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travelling the world hoping to meet new people, experience new things and have a whole 'lotta fun!
ABOUT ME
Hi All!
I'm Clae, a twenty-two year old guy from Melbourne, Australia. At the end of 2013 I set off to travel the globe starting in South America working my way up to NYC. My travels have no time limit, I'm simply setting off by myself to see the world, experience new cultures and ways of life, learn new languages, eat new foods and sleep on new couches :) I'm an extremely easy-going type of person and love getting to know people and their stories. I'm also extremely open-minded and as long as you're human we're bound to get along! I hope to meet you all soon :)
PHILOSOPHY:
“Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun. If you want to get more out of life, you must lose your inclination for monotonous security and adopt a helter-skelter style of life that will at first appear to you to be crazy. But once you become accustomed to such a life you will see its full meaning and its incredible beauty.” - Christopher McCandless

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one!?! but why?
If I have to narrow it down to one, I'd say travel. Backpacking through South America for a year was an incredible experience which taught me a lot, both about others and the world –but also about myself.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach, well I'm a native English speaker so there's always that! I'm also quite knowledgable about Indigenous societies and cultures including Indigenous philosophy - quite a niche I know.
I'm really out to learn and share, but If I can teach you something in exchange I'd be more than happy to do so!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great times, travel advice, intermediate Spanish, beers ( or wine, particularly red! ) and lots of smiles!
