About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get travelling experience and do as much as I can while I can.
Feel the beauty, accept the ugly and see the world.

ABOUT ME

I just started using this Couchsurfer profile, I'd forgotten about it!

I am back from a year abroad studying in the US in Springfield, Massachusetts. I will be going into my final year at Leeds University and I study Cinema and Photography.

New experiences are really what I'm all about. From a classical concert to a basement mosh, my aim in life is to do as much as I can until I find a career I want to follow.

People think I'm pretty chill, quite laid back, I'm not a high maintenance "girly-girl" and I'm happy with a sofa and a blanket!

PHILOSPOHY

I believe in the Quaker testimonies of Peace, Equality, Simplicity, Truth and Sustainability!

My motto:
Never take things for granted, and always ask!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have never couchsurfed before but the field of work I'm hoping to go into (i.e filming, photography) involves both experience and knowledge.
I want to explore the world and be inspired to write/plan/film my truth-the world as I have seen it.

I treat my life like a blank book, ready to be written in!

But I don't just want the tourist experience. Living in London has taught me that in order to truly 'visit' somewhere, you've got to be with a local! And that's why I'm into Couchsurfing :)

I am more than willing to help out with food/washing up etc. Like I said I don't take things for granted!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Complete and utter noob! (Newbie). I have never couchsurfed before but know a lot of people who have done so while inter railing and know people who WWOOF.

Interests

Interested in: Photography, Film, Music, Theatre, Art, Spoken Word (Poetry) Clubbing, Pubbing, Chatting, Travelling, Talking... and anything you want to do!

As I am a Quaker (British sort) and this means I like to be quite peaceful and meditative sometimes, I don't like violence or support war, and am up for discussions about the inner workings of the world, and anything in it (deep, right?)

I am a smoker, I like smoking.

Music, Movies, and Books

Here's a small list taken from my 'CV' as my 'creative influences'
Documentaries: Planet Earth, Benefit Street, The Sky at Night, The Blue Planet
TV Programmes: My Mad Fat Diary, Come Dine With Me, Lost, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development
Films: Bourne-films, Coyote Ugly, Blade Runner, 500 Days of Summer,Little Miss Sunshine, Shrooms

Books: I read ANYTHING. Preference for fantasy books and long, finished series.

Music: changes depending on what I'm introduced to. I will always have love for rap and rock though! At the moment I'm into house, drum&bass, pop/trap remixes and reggae.

Basically I'm an open book, you like a film/book/song/place? show it to me, spread your love!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteer with the Quakers roughly 4-6 times a year. I help out at residentials with varied ages (usually 11-15, 15-18 year olds). I help them on their way and stimulate discussions and lead events/sessions during the residentials. When I was an overly dramatic drama t(qu)een, these adults helped me out, so I want to do the same.

Teach, Learn, Share

Happy to teach Photography on my camera, or try and teach you on whatever you have. Applies to filming as well, but I can only really work on Black Magic, Canon or Sony (range of models). Happy to travel and help out with a film/photography project at the same time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not really sure what this means but I can take photos for you, or we can have chats, go clubbing, chill out, play card/board games... I can cook (ish) and am happy to wash up!

I'm quite easy going, not a fussy eater and up for a laugh!
