About Me
Hi Couchsurfers!
First question you're asking yourself: who am I?
I'm a French travel and culture enthusiast, who started traveling with a University friend, and got hooked on it.
I got a Bachelor in English & Performing Arts, traveled for a bit (six months in Belfast, Northern Ireland, then three months backpacking in the USA), and then got another Bachelor, this time focused solely on Performing Arts.
Then Covid put a bit of a damper on my travelling projects, so I got a job in a zoo and now I'm free to get back on the road (or plane, rather)!
I come from the Loire Valley in central France, right there where you can find all the castles. It's pretty, green, and full of history (and food!).
I'm a huge film-lover, so don't get me started on cinema (or if you do, be prepqred for a five-hour animated conversation)! I even once had a dream of working as an actress, but that's changed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it's fun!
I discovered Couchsurfing while visiting Scotland with a friend and and confirmed my love for it while backpacking in the USA. It gave me the opportunity to meet new people and gave me a new insight into the country I was visiting, and that's pretty much all that matters. I want to know your story, to exchange our views on things, and make memories with you!
People are part of the country I want to visit, so that's pretty much why I'm here!
Interests
As I've said, I'm a MASSIVE film-lover. Of all kinds. And TV-Shows too!
I also love books & music of course. Maybe not quite all kinds, but I do like diversity.
- books
- movies
- music
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite movies: Sense and Sensibility, pretty much everything Gary Oldman has done, Star Wars, kid's films, thrillers, comedies, musicals... Anything but horror movies, really.
Basically, when I like an actor, I watch all of their movies. And I like quite a few actors.
I also love Buffy, Gilmore Girls, Lost, Friends, Doctor Who, Kaamelott (best French TV-show ever).
As for books, I love Harry Potter, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, and a bunch of novels, too many to name...
In music I can be eclectic: I love Queen and old French singers (Balavoine, Dalida...), a few Kpop groups, a lot of classical composers... even movie scores!
Plenty of things to talk about! I also love to play board games!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I used to be a girl-scout and spent three weeks in India helping in an orphanage. That was the first of my adventures abroad.
After that, studying in Belfast was pretty amazing, and backpacking in the USA was absolutely brilliant!
And now, I'm getting the dust off my backpack for a brand-new, two-months adventure in New Zealand. And that's gonna be greaaaaaaaaat!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you French, and how to swear like a true French. Because what's funnier?
Keeping clichés aside, I'm not sure what I can teach you, but I'm a happy participant to anything, love to learn new things, especially songs! I'm not the greatest nor the worst, and I just love to sing.
But more importantly, I want to learn from you. Who are you? How's your life? What do you like? Let's share!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food. I love food. And I love to cook, which goes very well together.
And points of view. I love to meet new people, new cultures. I can share a good laugh, that's always a good thing!
