About Me

I'm studying english, spanish and portuguese with a bit of law, marketing, economy... in La Rochelle. I'm a 21 year-old French girl but I'm also Guatemalan and my latino side is so important to me! I think having a double nationality, a double culture makes me very open-minded and allows me to relativize :)

I now live with my boyfriend Romeo, so we would host you together or probably ask you to host us both. He's 22, Peruvian and has lived for several years in French Guyana. He studies business and management and likes books about personal development. He's curious, funny, friendly and makes the best Pisco Sour ;) He also speaks Brazilian Portuguese perfectly :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking for an authentic way to travel and want to meet people from all around the world and be able to share with them! :)

As I receive many demands, especially during the summer, if you want a chance to be hosted at my place, please read carefully my profile (I expect the password "salsa" in the message to prove that you did) and show real interest in meeting me (not only in saving money), I don't want to host someone that sends the same message to everyone (I know, it takes time but it is an effort that I do too when I travel because hosting a person we don't know IS a big deal). If I accept your request, then I promise I'll do my best so that you enjoy my beautiful city and that we share great moments 😊

Interests

I love dancing, reading, singing (but I'm so bad at it), traveling, visiting museums (I love art), meeting new people, trying new things, eating, writing, listening to music...

Music, Movies, and Books

I can really enjoy every kind of music and listen to a bit of everything but I especially like to hear latino music which makes me want to dance and sing and old french songs because I'm so proud of the french culture.
I don't have a good movie culture but I like watching movies. "La Jaula de oro", "Slumdog Millionnaire", "The Artist", "The Lodger", (Hitchcock) "Mulan" and the amazing "Le Sel de la Terre" would belong to my favorites.
As far as books are concerned, I love "El amor en los tiempos del cólera" by Gabriel García Marquez, surrealists books such as "Nadja" by André Breton or "Les Mains Libres" by Paul Éluard and Man Ray. I like books from Haruki Murakami very much and enjoy I poems of Baudelaire, Pablo Neruda, Rúben Darío...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Truth is I feel so lucky to be able to say that I've done quite many amazing things in my short life, well, according to me, but here's one special for me:
I've never been into extreme sports or roller-coasters because they scare me but this summer, arriving into the middle of the Guatemalan jungle, I saw people jumping from a wooden bridge in a very bad shape into a turquoise water and I thought OMG they're crazy, I would NEVER do that...And guess what I did on the next day...It was really intense but I was so proud of myself and felt so free, so happy...

Visiting the Machu Picchu was probably the best day of my life, it was such an incredible and mystical experience!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn from the others, hear different points of view...but also to share my experience, my culture and I would like to teach kids from a poor neighborhood someday, to read, write, dance...everything I could teach them!

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all, my smile, my joy, my friendship :) Maybe a good homemade meal, I'll do the best I can ;) I'd be glad to share my apartment for a little time, mi casa es su casa! And, I would share, I hope, unforgettable moments :D
