I'm taking a sabbatical from my job in Manchester, UK, as a Health Economist and travelling with my partner, Bruce. This has been a long talked about trip and I'm excited to be doing it.

We start in Japan and have 4 months around East and Southeast Asia. I previously used couchsurfing when I travelled South America 9 years ago and really valued the experiences it gave me.

Because I love really experiencing the culture of a country. Couchsurfing provided an instant community of people when I first when travelling on my own and I enjoy the experience you get from couchsurfing that you don't get from staying in hostels and hotels.
