I've still got the somewhat bohemian grad school aesthetic to my tiny little home, and prefer to live closer in to town than further out with granite countertops. I'm generally clean but not Martha Stewart perfectionist.

I've got two young, healthy super sweet low maintenance kitties. One is very outgoing and will openly request snuggles. The other is a rescue scaredy-cat who might hide for a day or two, but once she warms up will jump on the couch and head-butt your hand and ask for some pets. One is black, one is burmese, neither shed very much and they're indoor only so both very clean.

I've got a few friends on couchsurfing, and when I mentioned I needed a cat sitter for my last trip, and was nervous about Craigslist, one suggested this is a great way to find someone with references who might be thrilled to have my whole cottage.

In a previous life I used to have a craft business and roamed the United States often for weeks on end. So many times I've had random connections offer me fantastic hospitality, and I love the idea of paying it forward.
