Overview
About Me
Engineer, though one of the less-nerdy ones; I just appreciate a good problem. Born and raise in beautiful Idaho. I travel a lot, routinely go hot springs hunting at all times of year, rock climbing, backpacking, road tripping, motorcycles, beer, reading, swing dancing. I am interested in just about everything, but most of all I love to travel: exploring new places, meeting new friends, and learning about other cultures.
Personality-wise, people may find me reserved but curious and considerate. I enjoy reading and learning about anything I can, and in application discussing the greater points of life with others.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has been such an incredible experience in my travels for meeting other like-minded people and creating a global network of friends.
Interests
I enjoy getting outdoors on the weekend: backpacking, camping, hiking, skiing, hammocking, motorcycling, rock climbing. I play a few instruments and am always looking for another to add to the repertoire!
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Stevie Wonder, Rachmaninov, Louis Armstrong, Lord Huron, Ed Sheeren, the Shins
Movies: Emperor's New Groove, Thousand foot journey, Parks & Rec, the Office
Books: Brothers Karamazov, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Kite Runner, Vango
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flew to Bolivia and traveled out into the Andes to a rural indigenous community where I worked with the people surveying and reconstructing a gravity-fed water supply system.
Teach, Learn, Share
If you ever want to travel to the Pacific Northwest, I've lived here most of my life and can give endless recommendations on the best cities, wildernesses, and natural hot springs to visit. (Bit of a hot springs guru) Would love to experience your city, learn a little of the language, and swap stories with you!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Rocky Mountains backpacking stories, a fix-it idea for anything broken in the house (spoiler: may involve duct tape), I can teach you how to make sushi, and give pro hammock-camping tips.
