Overview
About Me
I'm a 25 year old traveller on a multi-year world trip, currently in Australia. I've already spent two months in China and five months in Byron Bay in Australia and am now travelling around Australia for the next few months. I'm working my way around the globe as well as remotely building my blog and travel business.
I blog about eco-travel and my clumsy stories when travelling (I won't break anything in your house though, I promise!) and am a vegetarian - although am very easy going with what else/ where/ when I eat so please don't question hosting me if you're a meat fan.
When I was growing up, I spent my time in between London, the UAE and Mexico, which gave me my insuppressible urge to travel the world. I have spent my adult life so far in the beautiful cities of Bristol and Bath, where I got a degree in English Literature and worked as a content writer and marketer. Bath and Bristol are both amazing places and I will definitely move back to Bristol one day - but for now I've got to listen to my itchy feet!
My dream is to travel around all six continents making friends along the way. I believe that we can change the world with a smile, and I think the first step towards making this world a better place is meeting scores of people from around the globe.
My greatest passion is exploring new places and meeting new people, and I'm so excited that I'm now on this journey!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've heard lots about how great couchsurfing is to meet people when travelling, and I thought I'd try it out! Wherever I travel, I'm always looking for new friends and I'd love to meet people in different cities to get a local feel to the city.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love disco music from the 80s and 90s. I love to read historical or travel related books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently camped on the Great Wall of China. That was something pretty special and not an experience I'll be forgetting in a hurry!
I also lived in a tent for five months in an awesome community in Byron Bay. Tent life taught me so much; above all how few material possessions we actually need and the importance of community. My campsite family will hold a special place in my heart always!
Teach, Learn, Share
My blog is www.clairesfootsteps.com, I can offer lots of advice on eco-travel, budget travel, and how to travel when you're a bit of a walking disaster...
I'm a decent cook!
I'm learning Spanish and would love to find someone to practice with. I'm always up for learning a bit of any other language (I know bits of French, German and Mandarin) and eating local food!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook a variety of meals and I'm a qualified English teacher so can help any non-native speakers with English if they wish.
