Musik, Filme und Bücher

I was raised on The Beatles, Elton John, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Simon & Garfunkle, James Taylor, Fleetwood Mac, and Tom Petty. Moving to the American South added a little twang to my musical taste - some of my favorite contemporary bands are Ryan Adams, The Avett Brothers, and Mandolin Orange. I also love the indie-folk sounds of Bon Iver, José González, and Bowerbirds. And my musical guilty pleasures are Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, and Carly Rae Jepsen :)

Some of my favorite books are The Elegance of the Hedgehog, Everything is Illuminated, One Hundred Years of Solitude, and everything F. Scott Fitzgerald ever wrote.

The Princess Bride is my favorite movie. I also love Wes Anderson and know all of the words to pretty much every Disney animated classic.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

Some of the things I've done that I'm the most proud of are: hiking the W trek in Torres del Paine in Chile, finishing a masters degree while working a full-time job, and learning to listen to my heart and follow my intuition.

And most amazingly, I worked a pretty boring desk job for eight years without going completely insane. Hopefully I'll never have to do that again :)

I'm a pretty good cook, specializing in vegetarian and vegan dishes, and I love to bake - cookies, pies, brownies, cakes... tell me your favorite and I'll do my best!
