Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Claire, and I'm an American student studying German and International Studies in Bloomington. I love traveling and learning about new cultures, which I why I chose to study in such an awesome city. I have four cats back home whom I love dearly, and you can often find me reading a good book or going for walks in my free time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a college student, I'm on a tight budget and am trying to save up money for future travels. As an International Studies student, I'm interested in experiencing a culture, not just visiting it, per se. As such, I view couch surfing as a way to get to know people in a welcoming environment.
Interests
Other than traveling, I'm currently trying my hand at photography and blogging. At my home university, I write for an online food-community for college students (sharing recipes, etc) and enjoy singing in choir as well. I love baking, and in the spirit of the German culture I've been attempting to bake my own bread (there have been a few failures along the way, but I keep trying!).

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up listening to Eric Clapton, and he will forever be my favorite singer. I also love all things Broadway and have recently taken it upon myself to expand my knowledge of the classic rock genre. In regards to movies, I'll watch almost anything. In regards to films and books, a large part of my childhood was shaped by the Harry Potter series. I recently read the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness and really loved them and am now re-reading To Kill A Mockingbird.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I climbed a 14ner last summer while I was working at a ranch in Colorado (Mt. Huron, for those who are interested). It was by far the most physically demanding thing I've done thus far, but it was immensely rewarding.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to laugh and experience life, and can generally bring a positive attitude to anywhere I stay. I'm very clean and understand one's need for privacy as well and am respectful of other people's wishes. On a less important note, I know a lot useless musical theatre trivia and am willing to talk about that with anyone who cares to listen.
