About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep living, keep learning.

ABOUT ME

European living in Brussels. I expected to stay 6 months, it's been 10 years. So there must be something about this crazy city. It hasn't cured my itchy feet though, and travelling is still one of life's great pleasures (and I hope it stays that way!)

PHILOSOPHY

Compassion and kindness. Do no harm but take no sh*t.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Used to host and surf, now I mainly keep in touch. But feel free to hit me up - always open to meeting interesting new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The best - discovering the kindness of strangers is the most amazing thing.

Interests

People, ways of thinking and ways of living, balance in body and mind, the pleasures of life - good wine, good beer, good food, music that makes you vibrate, crisp morning air, hitting snooze, belly laughs (especially the unexpected and possibly inappropriate kind)...

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen mainly to folk, rock and electro, and love concerts and festivals. Brussels has some great concern venues - let me know if you would like some recommendations.

As for books I read a lot of Kundera, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Steinbeck, Paul Auster, Murakami back in the day. Now I am discovering historical fiction (Wolf Hall was a revelation) and trying to read more non-fiction... but sometimes there's nothing like some good chick lit to switch your brain off :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed a mountain pass in Albania and ran a marathon in Germany - both things I would never even have imagined doing 5 years ago.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach... French, English, some leftover German? How to play the harp badly :)

I'd love to learn: more Dutch and Spanish, more veggie/vegan cooking, more about mindfulness. Let's be good to the world and ourselves.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Australia, Austria, Bolivia, Burundi, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Morocco, Nepal, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
