Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment i am travelling so i am experiencing the generosity of all the couch surfing hosts. Before i left Australia my boyfriend and i hosted a number of overseas travellers and i hope to again, once i have returned to the other hemisphere.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My housemates have hosted quite a few couch surfers over the past year in our home town of melbourne, Australia. i have been around to chat, drink, listen, advise, explore and party with many of these surfers. I have throughly enjoyed meeting them all but have never had a profile myself. Its now time for our backpacking adventure on the otherside of the world and have allready stayed with two wonderful hosts, one in Iceland and one in Ireland. My biggest thanks to both of our host, having their local knowledge and friendship was invaluable in both of those areas and really made the trip... cant wait to meet some more people involved in the couch surfering system.

Interests

beer, food - i love cheese!! geology, music festivals, being stupid with my friends, my amazing boyfriend, obviously he forced me to write that, laughing, swimming, hiking, the outdoors, music.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - i love music and think that there is awsome stuff in all genres. i really enjoy going to gigs or sitting around listening to my friends play. I like a lot of Australian music - hip hop, jazz, rock - the herd. TZU, true live, butterfingers, cat empire. Many overseas bands such as - dandy warhols, death cab for cutie, brian jones town massacre, the flaming lips, the mountain goats, reel big fish, the shins, ween.

Movies - depending on my mood i like the meaningful and touching movies such as the shawshank redemption, hotel rwanda, million dollar babies. but i have been known many a times to watch the meaningless action films like terminater and die hard etc... i enjoy not thinking for a while.

Books - i love reading, i will read anything. currently reading the autobiography of David Attenbourough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most memorable nights was when we were camping on a small island (Bruny Island) off the coast of Tasmania (the island at the bottom of Australia)and going for a midnight swim amongst the fluorescent organisms that sparked like electricity when the water rippled.

Teach, Learn, Share

I studied geology and environmental science at uni so have some sharable knowledge in those areas. I work as a dental assistant so i have great dental hygiene advise - flossing is important!!
