About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to boldly go where noone has gone before..wait that's already been taken. Well then to boldly go where life takes me!

ABOUT ME

probably about time to update this...

So I've spent the last 6 months working in Mexico doing marine conservation work and my divemaster - I now have the rather fantastic opportunity to carry on doign some more work in Hawaii before heading off to New Zealand and Australia - and anywhere else in between that the wind or seas may decide to take me!

I love anything and everything to do with the sea and wildlife.

I'm of a general cheerful disposition, told I have a quirky sense of humour. It's also been mentioned I radiate weirdness...personally I'm not so sure but perhaps others need to be the judge of that.

PHILOSOPHY

I can't think of anything not cheesy but the best piece of advice I've been given was take whatever opportunities present themselves to you. Live your life, don't let it pass you by

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've just signed up so I'm currently only looking to visit other CS'ers, hopefully though I'll have some amazing times and return the favor to others when I get back home.

quick note - due to being a single female traveller I won't be accepting any offers from solo guys - sorry I'm sure you are all lovely, but it's just my personal preference :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none as yet, but I'm excited to start!

Interests

I like wine, cocktails, rum...and ice cream! Travel, Nature, Diving, Photography, cocktails! learning new things/cultures/foods, Documentaries, chillaxing, going out - I confess to loving visiting and doing all the painfully touristy things but equally enjoy going to those places only locals know about.

In general I'm quite relaxed and easy going, I love to laugh and have fun, intellectual debates (not arguments!)

Also I like board games, fan of cranium, taboo, articulate and drunk pictionary.

Also a fan of the usual going out to bars and bringing out the dance moves. if you're lucky I can even teach you the broken lawn mower.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a rather ecclectic taste in music - I've got an old vinyl record player so a lot of my music is pre 90s (motown, classic rock, unashamedly cheesy 80s pop and classical). More recent, all I seem to know are some mexican ballads and even then I don't know the names of them...anyone seen bandamax?

I enjoy the movies I watch most things other than slasher and gore because I'm rubbish with that sort of stuff. A list of my top few would be.. Gladiator, Some like it Hot, How to train your dragon, Dial M for Murder, Speed (I know it's bad but it's soo good too)

I enjoy reading, at the moment a lot of my books are wildlife and travel based but I enjoy Tolkien, Jane Austen, Steinbeck - particularly Tortilla Flats and Grapes of Wrath, One flew over the cuckoos nest, Jules Verne and the occasional trashy romance novel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've met David Attenborough...I defy anyone to have done seen or met anyone cooler

other than that - walked along (part) of the great wall of China, been diving with dolphins in Egypt and seen humpback whales off the coast of the dominican republic.

Seen 30 eagle rays at once

Helped a conservation project for turtles and helped save some that would otherwise have been trapped in their nests and died! yaaay baby turtles

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm open to learning from anyone and everyone I meet. I love taking the opportunities to learn from other peoples experiences and hear about their lives and travels. If that's over a beer or glass of wine so much the better ;-)
