About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to ride my bicycle with no hands!

ABOUT ME

Gosh, these things make me feel nervous. I immensely dislike talking about myself in such an ostentatious manner.... so I suppose I should describe myself as rather modest? In all honesty, I'd like to think I'm a laid back person, I love to try new things and have new adventures in life, impulsive, open-minded, caring and loving. I have a real childish, inquisitive curiosity about everything and anything

PHILOSOPHY

"....cross that bridge when we come to it"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfed with my boyfriend Tom Simpson in SE Asia. Met some really kind and interesting people. Now we have our own pad (and small couch) - we'd love to repay our debt to the couch surfing community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Watching Lawrence Mayaki (host) teach my boyfriend how to dance. Priceless.

Interests

My recent move to Kendal has fuelled my love of the outdoors and nature and I enjoy nothing better than hiking/climbing/scrambling up to high places to enjoy the vantage point. I like to spend most of my time outdoors, as the great local man Alfred Wainwright said "there's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing"; climbling, running, camping, diving, whatever basically, so long as it involves fresh air (or water). I Love Love Love to travel and experience new environments, different cultures and try new things, I think there's nothing more exciting in life. I enjoy cooking and experimenting on willing volunteers ;-) I really enjoy working with young people, their energy and creativity is wholly refreshing. In my lengthy school holidays I enjoy getting stuck into different volunteer projects and have been to some incredible places doing so.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm fond of a good movie and like those that stay with you for ages afterwards. I'm always adding to my list of favourites - goodbye lenin, lost in translation, american beauty, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, apocalypse now, delicatessen, the story of the weeping camel, the motorcycle diaries.
Music-wise, I don't dislike much, happy to give almost anything a listen. I just love live music. Nothing beats seeing a live act for the energy and atmosphere alone.
I love to read and like a good mix of fiction and non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing two otters play fighting with each other on the river beside my house - life is full of simple pleasures!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to make a turkey from a tea towel. I kid you not.

To knit, if you like that kind of thing

I was an ESL teacher so I can ATTEMPT to teach you some English grammar if you're interested. I'd really like to improve my spanish and would love to get involved in any language exchange hook up type things

I like to tell bad jokes

And I can cook for you :)
