About Me

I'm a 26 year old girl from Toulouse, living now in Vancouver, Canada. I'm teaching French at the university for the current academic year and I'd like to travel during May and June 2018! I like to discover as much as I can about the country's people, culture, food and habits.

I spent my Erasmus year abroad in Birmingham, it was awesome and I've met so many people there and seen fantastic places. I'd say I'm a pretty easy-going person and always willing to know new people! I'm currently in my second year of Master's in Learning / Didactics of French as a Second Language.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've discovered CS in 2012 and had my first experience with a great lad, Blake, who hosted me in Birmingham for a few days while I tried to find a house. He was a perfect host and it has confirmed my ambition to further explore CS. Unfortunately, I can't host people for the moment as I live in a small apartment in Vancouver but when I'll get my own flat I'll be glad to welcome someone and share time with them if they want to!

Interests

When I have some spare time I usually spend it with my friends, just chilling, going to the movies or have a drink! I like watching TV series but I also love going out for a swim or play tennis with a friend. I'm always glad to cook for my guests and will enjoy trying new things!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to pretty much anything, my lastfm account will sum it up: http://www.lastfm.fr/user/wakefulness/library

I'm a pretty big fan of films, again just like music I watch a lot of things. My personal favourites range from Mulholland Drive to District 9 as well as classics like The Big Sleep or masterpieces such as Home Alone and Gremlins (shh, don't deny it). I'm quite fond of Wes Anderson's work and Amélie Poulain's soundtrack skillfully knows how to tug at my heart's strings.

Six Feet Under, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, Arrested Development are among my favourite television series.

Concerning books, I have a fair share of affection for comics/graphic novels (Watchmen and most of Alan Moore's work, Maus, Bone ...).
Poetry is not really my thing but I can appreciate it, especially Richard Siken's and Baudelaire's.
The last two books I loved were Foer's Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and Eugenides' Middlesex.
Huxley's Brave New World is next on my 'to read' list.
