About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Get a new life! I have just retired, a little bit early, after 40 years studying and practicing medicine. Wonderful though it was, there is more to life.
ABOUT ME
Love tea and food, talking about almost anything, playing board games and cards, travelling, woodwork, Lego - huge collection, singing, bungee jumping and trying out new similar adrenalin rushes, body boarding - sense of balance too dodgy for proper surfing.
PHILOSOPHY
Kindness, openness to experience, willingness to let go and move on as we are constantly changing whether we plan to or not.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Newbie to the whole scene. Joined because my nephew, Harry Japp, has so enjoyed hosting and surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Very positive experience of hosting so far - not had the opportunity to surf yet. The surfers have, as I hoped, been the generous spirited, kindly, curious and outgoing type of people I had hoped to meet.

Teach, Learn, Share
One of my most memorable educational moments was spending half an hour talking to a Lebanese refugee in 1977 while waiting to get my first university degree result. She was alone, friendless, worried about her family and ignored by the academics in the department she cleaned. She opened my eyes in far more useful ways than my degree.
