Resumen
Sobre mí
Hello! I'm Claire and I'm a bookworm. That's why I keep buying too many books and end up reading them years after. My list of books to read never shrinks. You know what I mean. (Maybe.)
I'm from the French-speaking part of Switzerland but I live in Basel, which is in the German-speaking part. If this sounds like a mystery to you, I'll be glad to explain when we meet!
I'm a rather calm person, more of the listening style. I am very curious and welcoming and I try to be as open-minded as it goes. Sometimes this means listening to someone who has different (political/ideological) opinions as me but still trying to have a constructive discussion about our differences. I then try to understand why they think like they do.
I love music. I love old jazz, blues and soul singers such as Ella Fitzgerald (especially the songs with Louis Armstrong), Otis Redding and the like.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
I used to volunteer for an exchange organization and when it came to persuade Swiss families to host an exchange student, we used to say "bring the world to your home". That's exactly what I intend to do with Couchsurfing :-)
By the way, it's important for me that you take time to read my whole profile before sending me a request. I get quite a few requests and appreciate when they are a little more personal!

Música, películas y libros
Music: see the "About me"-section :-)
Other artists I like: ALA.NI, Ben Caplan, Hugh Laurie, Broder Daniel, Benjamin Clementine, Brigitte, Edith Piaf, Claude François, Jacques Brel ...
Movies: pretty much anything except for horror movies.
Books: I try to read the French, (Swiss-)German and English/US-American classics, but I'm very curious about other things too, especially if they give you an idea how it's like some other place of the world. I read 'The Kite Runner' by Khaled Hosseini recently and I really loved it :-)
Algo increíble que he hecho
After a tough brain operation, I had to learn how to walk again. Managing it and not needing a wheelchair anymore is probably one of the most amazing things I'll ever do, even if I tend to forget that quite often.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I'm always open to new experiences. I'm very curious so I love long discussions about how to change the world and less ambitious things!
Also, I like to cook and experiment new things in my kitchen. (Not saying it turns out good every time! ^^')
Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones
Whatever I can I'll share! Smiles, chats, wine, my knowledge about what I have some, my curiosity about the rest.
I can teach you more about Swiss culture if you're interested. Also, I can cook for you :-)
Also, I love to spend an evening with friends talking, sharing a nice meal and playing games. If you're into that, that's surely something I would enjoy too!
