Hiya! I'm Claire. I’m a bit of a vagabond. First discovered couchsurfing while living out of my van with my mate and dog in 2013. That year changed my life - in large part because of the beautiful connections I made through this site. I’ve kept to following my itchy feet whenever possible since then and hosted couchsurfers whenever possible.

I'm currently living out of a camper in nature all around the states and following the sun. I'm also in an indie rock band called Scuttlebuggs (our most recent music video: https://youtu.be/iCqZZb4w_Bg or stream our tunes on Spotify / bandcamp etc) we've toured the US as well as Japan and we're about to embark on a tour of the UK as this August. Couldn't be more excited to connect with the local community and share our music, although I'll be desperately missing my canine companion of the last 13 years who'll be eagerly awaiting our return to the states... and he's worth coming back for. =)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It all started when my mate and I were taken care of through couchsurfing in a humbling way on our road trip in 2013. Now we enjoy opening our home to others when we can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm so grateful for the couchsurfing experiences I have had thus far. When I lived in a van with my mate and dog, we encountered such beautiful generosity on the road. After I settled back in Chicago and then in Brooklyn, hosting offered me the opportunity to return the favor. It's great when I am able to provide a safe and friendly environment to travelers, and I have met such wonderful and fascinating people from all over the world.
