Overview
About Me
I spend my childhood moving around France and the french island New Caledonia (east of Australia, north of New Zealand) for my father's job, changing of city very regularly. Since I left the family nest 10 years ago, my thirst of travelling and discovering just kept growing and brought me all over the world: internship in London in 2009, followed by an exchange program in Montreal, a road trip around Australia before finishing my study as an exchange student in Mexico city. I then went back in France for a few years, working for NGOs that raise awareness among environmental and social issues. I'm a very outgoing and adaptable person, I speak fluently french, spanish and english and there is nothing I love more than meeting people from everywhere and learn about their stories.
I left France again in January 2015 and spent a year volunteering and travelling around Mexico. After a short stay in California, I'm now on my way back to New Caledonia.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started Couchsurfing in 2009, in this crazy flatshare in Montreal where we used to host a lot and to travel a lot, all using the same account (Saint Andwreeez Pâlace: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/saperlichloette). I travelled using it for a while and finally thought it was too much of a mess. This is why I created recently my account. I've been hosted from Canada to Australia, passing by France, Holland or Mexico. I've hosted a lot myself in Canada and in Mexico, not as much as I wanted to in Paris considering the size of my one room flat.
I'm on couchsurfing for the value of sharing and meeting it has been transmitting since its creation. Travelling for me is all about meeting a culture more than visiting a place. There is nothing I love more than listening to my hosts talking about the history, the politics, the culture or the social issues of their country around a nice diner and a good bottle of wine.
Furthermore, the principle of couchsurfing has always been part of my life. In my family house as in my shared flats, the door has always been wild open and a warm meal waiting for anybody who would need it. I have always welcomed family, friends and friends of friends and always been welcomed by so many people.
I also love cooking and learning about other's way of cooking.Couchsurfing is really a great way of dealing a good meal against a blanket and a piece of sofa for a night.
Interests
I have always been a pretty committed person. I started studying international business, got horrified by what I was taught and decided to dedicate myself to try to improve our system. I worked for various NGOs in France, raising awareness among students particularly on the link between the use of tecnics nowadays and democracy. I keep volonteering today on the protection of communities against mining industry, in France and elsewhere.
I have always been a very social person, loving to hang out with friends, to welcome people home around a good meal, to organize all kind of activities for all.
For the sport, I used to practice gymnastic and kickboxing. I had to stop after an accident and I now mostly do swimming, yoga and climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books
I couldn't say any favorite artist or book, this is a really hard exercise to me.
I have always been particularly into caribean and latino music. Nothing sweeter than a good summer festival. I listen all kind of music though, from hip hop to electro, according to the mood of the moment. I'm learning guitar at the moment.
I read a lot too. One of my last discoveries is Ken Follet. One of my favorite author ever is Robert Merle, particularly for his book Malevil.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
What is amazing is pretty subjective according to each of us... I feel like I had amazing moments in each of my travel and I've learned so much about the world we are living in and about myself thanks to each of them. However, if I have to pick some experiences, I would say...
- Living one year with a bunch of crazy hippie mexicans in Mexico city taught me a lot
- Road travelling around Australia in van during 6 months and sharing time with rainbow communities
- Volunteering for 4 months in an association working with people with disabilities on the Mexican Pacific Coast
- Taking the train Chihuahua - Pacifico that links the Pacific Coast to the city of Chihuahua, crossing the incredible Barranca del Cobre
- Leaving alone in the mountain of Chiapas in a tree house for one month
Hmmm... Thats what is coming to me now.
Teach, Learn, Share
"I believe in utopia because reality looks incredible to me." This is my last motto. I believe in a world of solidarity. I believe that the human being can do better. The world in which we are leaving encourages to me the worst aspects of our humanity and I believe that concepts such as couchsurfing are really transmitting other values, based on human relationships and sharing, that we have to fight for nowadays.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can definitely share my little skills in cooking. I've got a master degree in Crepes-making in all conditions for friends and hosts from all over the world.
I can share my experience of travelling and my understanding of this world, and would be so happy to enrich it by yours. I can share my smile and my thurst of discovering. I'm a quick learner and always happy to help too, so I can definitely give a hand if there is some work to do around your home.
