About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Unite the infinity stones and rule the universe!
ABOUT ME
I am a recent university graduate, majoring in neuroscience and linguistics. I'm pretty goofy and outgoing and love to meet new people. I really enjoy learning new things, which probably explains my interest in science. I am also a bit of a neat freak and a perfectionist, but I'm trying to learn to go with the flow a bit more.
I am a giant nerd, and can probably talk your ear off about anything from molecular biology, to comic books, to history, to indie bands. I also sing a lot (sorry!). I performed in a few operas while in university and I've been in several choirs, but now I save most of my singing for the shower or while I'm washing the dishes!
I like to keep active, but I hate going to the gym. Fortunately, I don't own a car, so I am my own transportation! My legs and my bicycle get me where I need to go. In the summer I bike everywhere, and I also love a good hike.
My sister is my travel buddy, so we come as a package deal. Don't worry, she is lovely! If you like me you will like her because we are basically twins. She has a couchsurfing profile if you want to check her out.
PHILOSOPHY
The only meaning in life is what you give it. So go out there and love, experience, share, and enjoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Currently I am just a traveller, but I hope to host someday in the future (step 1 would be getting a couch!).
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am a couch surfing newbie! I have never couch surfed before, although I have stayed on the couches of some very distant acquaintances, which doesn't seem all that different.
My favorite experience was staying in a studio apartment in Brooklyn, NY with my grandma's friend's daughter's acquaintance. She was a great host, because she was so welcoming and generous, and even took some time to show me a few cool places in the neighborhood. I definitely got a more local experience. I also bought food from Trader Joe's and made us dinner as a farewell thank-you, which was really fun.
Interests
I love science, singing, theatre, books, eating and the great outdoors. I grew up backpacking and canoeing with my family, so I love exploring and trying new things. I also have a great love of choral music, which I got from my dad.
Like I said, I am a giant nerd, so I love sci-fi, movies, comic books, Harry Potter, and anything science-related.
I also am proudly Canadian, and can tell you a lot of stuff about my home country. I also listen to a ton of Canadian indie bands, and watch many Canadian TV shows (yep, they exist!).
I also enjoy cooking and eating good food, and am always ready to share!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have seen every Marvel movie, and take joy in big action movie cheesiness. But, I come from a family of cinephiles, so I've also seen all the classics (favourites include Some Like It Hot and Miracle of Morgan's Creek). I'm a big fan of animated movies too!
As for music, I listen to a lot of folk and indie music, especially of the Canadian variety. Some current favorites are Mother Mother, Said the Whale, Lucius, and Vance Joy. I also love choral and accapella music (anybody heard of Rajaton?).
I read a lot. Current ambition is to read all the works of E.M. Forster. I've also read the entire Game of Thrones series, and am a huge Harry Potter fan. If I had to pick a favorite it would be "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" by Michael Chabon.
