Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Making the most of what I've been given. Exploring new avenues of creativity and adventure.
ABOUT ME
I was born in the Southern US, raised in the Midwest and schooled on the East Coast. After realizing my "dream job" in music marketing wasn't all that meaningful, I moved to China to teach English. I now live in JiaoJiang, the capital of Taizhou, Zhejiang.
I love trying all kinds of new (vegan and vegetarian) dishes--especially spicy ones--and learning to recreate them in my own kitchen.
Always open to new experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
Still figuring this one out. Be a good person, and life will probably be good to you. You are an extension of those around you, and vice versa.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Meeting for coffee or a drink is always fun. My current living situation allows me only to surf, not to house other surfers (I don't even have a couch!) Once I've moved into a roomier place, I'll be happy to host other travelers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've made a few new friends from Germany and France over cups of coffee and bagel breakfasts. Nothing but good experiences so far.
Interests
Interests change every now and then. Current ones include cooking healthy, spicy vegan and vegetarian food; running a website called EatWellPartyHard.com; connecting with friends over drinks, both alcoholic and non; running occasionally, though I'd like to do more biking and hiking, too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Last Christmas, I played Peekaboo and Roll the Ball with my nephew for half an hour. Then he climbed into my lap with Happy Town, a kids' book my parents bought 20 years ago when I was his age, and he fell asleep in my arms as I read it to him.
I've seen a lot of amazing things, but that was one of the best.
