Overview
About Me
I am a Rio de Janeiro native aka carioca, born and raised between the sands of Ipanema beach and the mountains of Floresta da Tijuca. A student at the Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro from age 3-18, I later attended Oberlin College in Ohio, USA. I took a year from my college education to attend a multi-country study abroad program called IHP-Beyond Globalization. During that program, I stayed with host families often and it was an essential and incredible part of my experience. Post-college I moved back to Rio where I have been living and working since.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Visited multiple waste-treatment facilities around the world (recycling centers, landfills, etc) learning about the burdens of waste, its potential, and the impact it has on the lives of people that live off of it.
Teach, Learn, Share
“Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”
― Paulo Freire, Pedagogy of the Oppressed
