Über mich
I'm Indonesian by birth and citizenship, and have spent more than half of my life living in other countries. I consider myself as an educator, art historian, artist, and writer. I am also a long distance runner, crafter, and a Jane-of-all-trade in general.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
I am one year in to living in Germany and am travelling around Europe as much as I can afford to. I have made friends through Couchsurfing events in the past year and am a firm believer, more than ever, that meeting new people, making friends, and understanding more about the world have become that much easier thanks to platforms such as CS.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
At the time of editing this profile, I've just finished reading Patrick Süskind's Perfume, and I absolutely love it. My mission is to read books by authors from across the world and across time periods. It is a Mission Impossible, but one can try.
I love jazz and most of its sub-genres; would most likely say yes to a jazz concert invitation. And call it a poor taste in music, but I have a penchant for catchy pop/rock tunes, some of which do belong in radio hit charts.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I recently ran my tenth half marathon in Paris (March 2017). A half marathon is just another half marathon until freezing rain came down on 30,000 runners and never really stopped for 2-3 hours, interspersed with hail and wind. I believe my celebration (of running 10 half marathons) did become complete with that new weather condition. I officially have run races in warm rain, below-freezing wind chill, unexpected heat spike, fog, tropical heat, as well as perfect cool-and-sunny conditions. And I wouldn't trade these races for the world - I actually ran them in different places across the globe! ;)
For other amazing things... we'd need some drinks for more stories to be told!
Lehren, lernen, teilen
I geek out on art, culture, architecture, language - anything that speaks of the human race and our subconscious desire to be connected, even through diversity and adversaries. I am always a willing guide and reference to museums, art historical facts (and the soap-opera-like history that back them up), knitting & crochet (I promise I am not your granny...), and anything running-related.
Alternatively, shoot me a random musing-question, and I might have some random knowledge about it.
