I'm a PhD student/researcher in sociology, currently living in Leipzig. Outside of my official work I have been very involved in climate activism for the past year. I have always loved to travel and have traveled all around the world. But as I've come to realise that the way we travel is taking a toll on the planet and our environment, I'm exploring new ways of traveling in a more sustainable way. In the past years I have used every opportunity to explore Europe by train, and this summer I will be doing exactly that :-)

I'm a very open person and I love getting to know other people and learning about their lives. That's why I like to travel alone, as it leaves much more space to connect to the people around me. I can be very active, but sometimes I also enjoy sitting on a couch and watching movies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, a big part of traveling is about the people I meet along the way. I have had some great experiences with Couchsurfing, as this kind of solidarity and support can lead to experiences, that wouldn't happen otherwise.

Interests

I am very interested in politics, which led me to study sociology and now I work as a researcher in the field of political sociology. In the past years I have started to inform myself more thoroughly about the climate crisis we are currently heading towards, which resulted in me spending most of my free time with climate activism. Apart from these two things, I have a horse and love to spend time outdoors. And I'm trying to learn the guitar, which isn't going as well as I'd hoped... :-D
