ABOUT ME

I very recently discovered the real joy of travelling, eventhough I feel like I`ve been wandering around already for quiet a long time. I discovered that people are amazing (also the ones that ''are less amazing'') and I want to enjoy this discovery now until the fullest. Reality about politics and economy is sometimes hard for me, but still interesting. I like to talk with people about this and find a way to deal with it. And of course I don`t forget to dance and party now and then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that this speaks a bit for itself. It' s a great idea, from people, for people. I still like to just ask people on the street if they could host me, because I have the best experiences this way. But when I'm not confident enough (mostly in bigger cities), or when I' d really like to have something arranged, this is a very good initiative. And of course it is also a great way to get my remaining matrasses filled up with people in motion at the time I'm not moving myself. I probably don' t have to explain how much you'd like to help people in situations you've been yourself. And at the same time I can get inspired and motivated myself. (so thank you already for staying!)

Music, Movies, and Books

I must admit that I'm very enthousiastic about these "new" trend of music, like Die Antwoord and Tommy Cash. So in that way you can say that I have a very bad taste in music, and I fully enjoy that. Another guilty pleasure is reggaeton. But (luckly) I'm into much more; (electro)cumbia, jazz, blues, 80's metal, rap, dub, ... Other favourites are Fats Waller and Massilia Soundsystem. Just don't know what to choose.
For books I'm a huge fan of the Flemish writer Dimitri Verhulst. or Qui a Tué mon Père from Edouard Louis. Rebecca Solnit, Bell Hooks, Thea Beckman, Kader Abdollah, Toon Tellegen, ... Of course there's much more, but I guess that if you want to know what exactely you can ask me straight away.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 15, gathering some friends and doing a small pelgrimage of 100km, without money, food or a tent. Fully relaying on other people.
