Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During my first solo travels through the US I stayed with couchsurfers which was an amazing experience. Now I want to give something back to the community and host fellow travellers.
I really like the philosophy of this community as it brings people together and hopefully also allows people to travel who couldn't afford it otherwise. As with most things, I think travelling should be available to everyone. That doesn’t mean I’m just looking for a free place to stay. I stayed in hostels on my trip witch was fun, but it just missed the experience of staying with someone who lives in the city.
I've also hosted friends or bands on tour in the flatshares I've lived and stayed at other peoples places in europe and always enjoyed both parts.

Interests

I like rollerskating (mostly in the skatepark) but unfortunately I won't be able to bring my skates. But I'm always down for renting a pair and skating at a local rink or beach.
I love photography and usually carry at least a small analogue camera with me. Also trying to go to the cinema on my own more often.

Music, Movies, and Books

I currently listen a lot to The National, Japanese Breakfast, Austra, Sharon Van Etten and similar artists so mostly indie/alternative. But I appreciate music from a wide range of genres such as jazz, hip hop, synthwave/pop, new wave, punk...

I am somewhat of a film nerd. It's probably too much but if you are interested in films too, just ask! I also got a letterboxd account I can share with you.

I am very much into poetry and theory. Also trying to read more novels. My favorite poets/authors are Sylvia Plath and Ingeborg Bachmann, an Austrian poet and writer.
