ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Clara.
I love travelling, talking, listening, meeting new people, hitch-hiking,
laughing, swimming, volunteering, observing, hugging, dancing, eating, sleeping, discussing, reading, learning new things (especially languages), writing postcards, cuddling, feeling, dreaming, acting, teaching, inspiring, motivating..
Oh and plenty of other "ings" - but let us talk about those when we meet!
PS.
Fully vaccinated and survived both delta and omikron so should be pretty immune now :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Living by the saying: "Strangers are friends you just haven't met yet"
- Well, to be more specific:
Surfing when I travel;
Meeting for coffee/showing around in Copenhagen;
Hosting (when I lived in Spain);
Event-making when it fits;
Sharing the CS ideas to everyone;
& Joining CS events here, there and everywhere!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
October '10: Me and my friend, Maria, hitch-hiked to Stockholm and couchsurfed with Oguz and Onur at the Stockholm University dorms.
September '11: Me and my friend, Katrine, couchsurfed in Amsterdam with Job and Dion.
August '12: Me and 3 friends, Sofia, Sophie, and Katrine, went interrailing and couchsurfed in Trieste with Piermarco and Andrea.
October '12: Me and my friend, Sofia, went to Barcelona and couchsurfed with Augustin.
New Years '12/'13: Me and my best friend friend, Alex, went to Amsterdam over New Years and stayed with Ramon.
June '13: My co-volunteers visited Sanatander for a weekend, and stayed with Juan. Furthermore, we arranged a CS dinner in a Mexican restaurant!
August '13: We hosted Lucien, a great guy from Germany, on his way to Camino de Santiago. He stayed with us in our house here in Frómista.
'13 December: Visit in Lund, staying with Simon. Meeting up with several CS-ers, Julia, Marika..
'14 January-March: Boat hitch-hiking in Caribbean for 2 months with sister. From Puerto Rico down-island to Trinidad & Tobago crewing on sail boats and in between using CouchSurfing all the time! I think we met more than 30 couchsurfers on that trip, whom we either surfed with, travelled with or simply just met up with.
'14 April-May: Cycling trip with my family from Southern Spain to Denmark. Using CouchSurfing (& WarmShowers) all the way up through Europe - first time doing so with my family. A great experience to surf along with your parents and 12-year-old brother.
'14 July: Visiting my Turkish friend in Istanbul. Travelling together to Eat Turkey/Black Sea. Hitch hiking through Georgia, using Couchsurfing (and Travel Club), fx. Jonas in Zugdidi. Back in Istanbul I couchsurfed and stayed at Murat's & Adem's place, and met up with several couchsurfers in town.
'15: Backpacking for about a half year in Latin America, staying with locals (a mix of Couchsurfers and people I met in the bus or in a café) 80 % of the time!
All experiences have been amazing..
Furthermore, I've been to several couchsurfing events in Copenhagen (and in cities I've travelled to), very entertaining and interesting.
AND I have during my time as an EVS Volunteer in Frómista tried my best to spice up the CS ambience in Palencia (the bigger city to the town, where I'm living). My project partner, Tom, and I have arranged a CS meet-up in a bar, another CS picnic in the park, and now a 3rd CS meet-up in another bar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitch-hiking sail boats with my sister (best friend) in Caribbean for 2 months in the beginning of 2014. From Puerto Rico down-island to Trinidad & Tobago crewing on sail boats and in between using CouchSurfing all the time, spending around 1000 dollars in 2 months!
Traveling by bicycle from Málaga (Southern Spain) to Espergærde (Northern Denmark) during 2 months (April/May '14) with my family- We biked more than 4000 kms through mountains, beautiful landscapes and colorful villages...
