About Me

Having grown up and gone to college in Ireland I went and lived in Central and Western Massachusetts for ten years. Decided to return to Ireland for a while, found a job and travelled to many places in Europe I had never been to. Time went by and after a few trips to places like Japan and Mexico I decided I needed to see more. I left my job intending to travel for a year, which is what I did. Backpacking and volunteering along the way through South East Asia, New Zealand and South America. I couldn't face returning to regular work after only a year away so I worked teaching English in Ireland, Austria, Germany and Japan for a couple of years. I have now decided to (try to) settle in Ireland for a while and am really excited about travelling closer to home again, visiting places that were always on my doorstep but didn't take much time to explore. I have a lot of interests including meeting new people and travelling to new places. I love the outdoors but also love to spend time exploring urban areas. I am interested and interesting ! :) I am staying with family right now so I am not hosting at the moment but look forward to getting my own place so that I can return all the hospitality I've received in recent years.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling is great. I really prefer to get to know something more about the places I travel to and the people and culture there. I am an economical traveller, I don't have endless cash-but the main reason for couchsurfing is the connection and opportunities it offers. I have hosted both in Ireland and the USA over the years and I think it really is the way to go when travelling.
