About Me

I'm a 40-something woman who has spent the majority of her life as mum and obsessive worker, and now my son is self sufficient I'm off exploring before I'm too old to do it! When I'm not being mum or working you'll most likely find me at dance, the theatre, or a gig! I'm happy to host, not always free to be a tour guide (sadly) and most definitely NOT happy to have any propositions via the site. I believe couchsurfing has an amazing part to play in us growing closer as a collective of humans

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I spent majority of 2017 solo travelling before getting back to real life and I'm keen to host as I've been so grateful for those who've shared their homes with me and helped me along the way. The couchsurfers I've met so far in my home have been a joy to host.

Interests

I've been known as the organised one my whole life and it's served me well but I'm more about living in the moments now and decluttering my life - of unloved jobs, unneeded possessions, and unhelpful thoughts. Simple things bring me joy and I love the company of others who just want to explore and live!

Music, Movies, and Books

My default position is that music should be loud- punk, metal preferably, but definitely loud. And should have something to say. I love Wonk Unit the most at the moment (modern punk with a voice!)

That said, I love jazz, blues, tacky 80s pop and a lot more besides. I was recently blown away by drum'n'bass brass- not something I ever thought I'd say.

Reading is something I used to do avidly, before taking on a child, a high pressure job- and something I've got back to whilst away. I'm reading widely on everything I can find time to

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The island of Nacula in Fiji was without a doubt the most beautiful place I've ever seen. So blessed to have been there. But jumping out of a plane in Oct 2017 topped that! I'll definitely do that again.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm keen to learn about any and all other cultures, and can offer a friendly ear, and some words of wisdom having been around a while and done a lot of good (and not so good things) along the way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to be useful around the house including cooking and share my love of music of all kinds; a good debate on politics, religion or any other subject!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Fiji, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Turkey, United States, Vatican City State
