About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be inspired by the places I see and people I meet

ABOUT ME

I'm a student from California but at the moment I'm taking time off school, living in France and trying to explore Europe the best i can.

I study creative writing and traveling is by far the best inspiration! So my goal now is to have the most random and memorable experiences possible, to be able to share my stories well as hear people's own.

PHILOSOPHY

"The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion" Albert Camus

For me, traveling is freedom. It's getting out of your comfy bed and leaving most of your stuff behind and seeing what everything else out there looks like and feels like. If my cell phone doesn't work, all the better. It's freedom from what ties you down, and also the freedom to return to those familiar things when you'd like!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just beginning my couchsurfing adventures and I'm not quite able to host somebody comfortably right now, but I hope to be able to once I return to my home in Santa Barbara. (If you're really interested, check out my couch offer - no privacy but the apartment's nice!)

Interests

Meeting good people, eating good meals, and listening to good music - preferably all at the same time. I'm into books, music festivals, snowboarding and traveling of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books-wise : Fitzgerald, Hemingway and Gabriel Garcia Marquez top the lists. Just finished my first book in French (!!) Bel-Ami by Maupassant. I'm working on expanding my horizons, though, so book recommendations are very accepted!

Movies: The Graduate is an all time favorite, The Royal Tenenbaums as well as anything Wes Anderson, and Blow-Up is a recent favorite

Music: It's hard to create an exhaustive list, but a few include the Local Natives, Fleet Foxes, Pink Floyd, Toro Y Moi, TV on the Radio, Modest Mouse, the Strokes, Bon Iver, Yeasayer, Bob Dylan , the Shins

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The night sky in the Sahara Desert. The drive down the California coast.
