My mission is to live simply, happily, freely, mindfully, and lovely.

ABOUT ME

I'm chill and easy-going. I'm always down for an adventure. Someday I hope to have a career that will allow me to bring my dog to work, help people who are physically, emotionally or mentally disabled, and most importantly support my traveling habit. With my traveling I hope to challenge my mind, expand my comfort zone, and possibly set up a model for therapy services in developing countries. By allowing me to couchsurf at your place and vise versa you're part of those hopes and dreams.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had a Norwegian couchsurfer come and rest his bones for a week during the holidays a while back. He was traveling across the U.S. for the first time from South Africa. I truly enjoyed being an ambassador and learning about his culture. We clicked really well and I made a friend for life. The experience was wonderful and I hope to have more like it.

Interests

Traveling of course, especially outdoorsy stuff; hiking, canoeing, swimming, rafting, skiing, camping...that sorta thing. Obscure sports are good too; roller derby and ultimate frisbee are my favorites. I love to sample new beer and wine as well as dance; the two usually go hand in hand. I'm into art and nappy old antiques. I also love to read; Tom Robbins and Augusten Burroughs are a few of my favorite authors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I live for music. I love to explore different ganras, moods, and instuments then create an 80 minute mix and burn CDs of it for my friends. This has grown from a hobby to an obsession.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Louisianna. I've been down there a number of times volunteering with Emergency Communities (help out at emmergencycommunities.org) in New Orleans and Plaquemines parish rebuilding the area after hurricane Katrina. There I've seen the worst destruction imaginable, meet some of the greatist ramblers I've ever known, and grown closer to the friends that came down and shared the experience with me. It's changed me and was a major defining occurence in my life.
