About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live life well, and eat more cheese.

ABOUT ME

In an exciting state of change! I moved from San Francisco, California to Maastricht in The Netherlands to spend a year doing research. Which means that I have a year of weekend trips throughout Europe ahead of me!

I'm an active person who loves to meet people from different walks of life. Recently I've gotten into yoga and I'd love to meet people who can direct me to great yoga classes in their home city!

PHILOSOPHY

How does one summarize a personal philosophy? Mine dances around responsible life on this earth, interrelatedness, vitality, humanity...

I like to meet people face-to-face and sort out big thoughts like that.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a great first experience with CS years ago during my first trip to San Francisco before moving here. I've also had a wonderful time hosting lots of different nomadic folks on my various couches through the years, although that hasn't been officially arranged through CS.

Now I'm happy to be able to open my home to travelers in Maastricht! I'm also surfing here and there on short trips throughout the Netherlands and Europe.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed a couple of times, hosted a few times, and coordinated local events on CS. They've all been great experiences that have introduced me to wonderful people! Looking to make more memories with CS this year.

Interests

Psychology, art/design, music, cooking, doggies, biking, the outdoors, reading, lively conversation, sleeping in hammocks, trying new restaurants, hole-in-the-wall cafes, and dive bars.

...And burritos. Always burritos.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a voracious reader. Some of my favorite authors include Dave Eggers, Somerset Maugham, David Foster Wallace, Wendell Barry, and Joan Didion. But honestly, that barely scratches the surface.

I love finding out about new music but I usually come back to my home base in alt-indie folk rock. I have a little bit of a guilty pleasure for EDM.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watching the sun set while the moon rose over the desert in Egypt.
Swimming with a bull shark in Costa Rica.
Being invited into another's inner life in my work as a therapist. This is a truly amazing and humbling experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Did you know you can make your own cheese? It's pretty easy. Let me take over your kitchen and teach you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, conversation, activities, a cozy cup of tea...
