About Me
Hello! I’m Claire-just recently moved to Seattle from Boise, ID, but I was raised in Buffalo, NY! Since I’ve graduated college, all I’ve wanted to do is travel and experience as much as I can while I’m in the time and place to do it. I’ve dived into this a little bit throughout the past few years, but not nearly as much as I’m ready for. I’m a natural introvert and am so used to doing things by myself, but I am super interested in making new friends along my travels. I’m new to couch surf-but I’m so excited to try it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I would like to meet new people & make new friends! I need positive and fun people in my life that share the same sense of adventure as I do. I need people I can laugh with over drinks or coffee, and experience fun lifestyles with. But I really would love people that want to travel with me, or can share their own stories & give me ideas on what to do next. If the place I’m living at was my own, I would love to host surfers myself. But I think an awesome part about this whole thing is that it’s just an entire site, dedicated to people & their stories & friendliness & adventures. So excited to be one of those!
Interests
I love the color orange, penguins, & french fries with franks hot sauce. My favorite town is Lilydale & I want to live in London someday. My degree is in English because I love to read and write, and I’m a huge theater nerd. I am currently a restaurant manager which is the reason I moved to Seattle. Would really love to have a business like travel blogging though. I’ve been in a few plays, nothing recently. I used to play lacrosse, & currently I’ve been boxing & doing yoga, & meditating more. I love memes, spongebob, kids movies, but I also love neurology, law, greys anatomy, HIMYM, & shameless. I’m not into sports, the only video game I really play is Mario kart, and I can’t stand the color pink.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like all kinds of music except for country. Depends on what kind of mood I’ve been in-lately I’ve been listening to a lot of EDM. My favorite band is ADTR, I also love I Prevail, Mac Miller, Post Malone, & Blink 182. My favorite movie of all time is Pirates of the Caribbean, I also love Harry Potter, and almost all rom coms. I read a variety of books as well, ranging from teen fiction to the law of attraction. My favorite book is Tweak by Nic Scheff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
4 and a half years ago, I got into a program that allowed me to study at Oxford University for 6 weeks. I had been to England before, but this was by far the best experience of my life-a big part of that had to do with learning what it’s like to live in England & finding out all kinds of things about myself. I did some minor traveling a couple of the weekends I didn’t have classes & I made friendships and memories that’ll last a lifetime.
2 years ago I stood at the very top of Mount Tibidabo in Spain. To see the beauty of the country itself and just the entire Earth as a whole-it was impeccable. I have never felt so in tune and connected with the universe around me. It was a true moment of peace that I will hold to me forever.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have struggled with a lot throughout my life, and I have come to a point where I don’t just accept it, I appreciate it as well. It is what causes me to want to do so many amazing things for myself and the world around me. I love having the ability to just pick up and move myself across the country, to a place where I have no friends yet, no background. I love being able to get through to the people I love, when they’re feeling down and upset, or when they’re feeling happy and excited. I truly believe that life, especially toward the beginning, is something that should be lived at its fullest. And while that seems sometimes hard to do, I will never stop giving myself that opportunity.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to think I’m a genuinely nice person. I love getting to know other people & their adventures. I love to have fun and laugh about silly things, but I can be someone who is totally serious too. And I can promise I will definitely respect you & your space!
