Hi, I'm Clarissa.
I'm 23 and I'm from Germany. I just finished my Bachelor of Laws and I'm working and traveling for a while right now before starting my Masters. I am always interested in talking about law and politics and philosophy. Especially in a new country, I like to listen to the stories and opinions of the people living there.

I'm going to be traveling around Japan in August and September. I've already visited Japan for 2 weeks a few years ago, actually around the same time of year, so I kind of know what I need to prepare for weather wise. I'm so incredibly excited about this trip. I loved my time in Japan the last time I visited, and I plan on seeing so much more and meeting so many more people this time around. For the last two months I've started studying a bit Japanese, but I fear my knowledge of the language is still very poor, :). I'm planning on couch surfing a lot, and staying in Hostels and also I want to do some woofing for 2 -3 weeks.

What I like to do: I really like to read. I read every day, mainly novels. I love novels with female protagonists and depressive plots. I also write. Right now I'm trying to write my own story. I also meditate. I did a Vipassana course in June and it was an amazing experience . I'd love to do another course in a few months. I like movies and I go to the cinema pretty often. I love to dance and sing with others. I also like baking and cooking a lot.

I also really like hiking and being in nature. I love to swim in the sea or in lakes. I'm always on the search for people to do a hiking trip with or to go camping with.

I'm quite new to couch surfing. I had my first experiences in Turkey with a friend who couch surfes a lot and I really really loved it. It was a way of coming into contact with the country which would have seemed otherwise impossible, and led us to meet so many amazing incredibly kind people. I shared so many nice evenings with all the people I met while traveling. I'm so thankful for all the kindness I received on that trip. I really want to have more experiences like that.

I want to come into contact with Japan similarly. I'd love to find out all the favourite spots of a city from someone who has lived there for quite some time, and maybe get a feel for how it would to be to live in Japan myself.
