About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Exploring Madagascar... Learning to do things mora mora (slowly slowly).

I'm also currently living in Cape Town but not sure how permanent that is.

ABOUT ME

An adventurous free spirit disguised as an organised individual.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After years of crossing paths with Couchsurfers, I've finally joined the community myself and think it's going to be a lot of fun.

Can't honestly say I have managed consistency since I joined but I do like that I've met lots of great people through CS and hope to continue doing so.

Honestly feel that I have given as many good experiences to others as I have gained. It's a nice feeling :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Trip to China, met Sami and we ended up arranging to meet other couchsurfers for an evening out in Beijing.

I then went with Pete to the Great Wall (Too much fun doing China style, star-jump photos!)

Interests

Too much to list!
I love 'firsts' - if I haven't done it yet, it will appeal to me.
Interests whilst at home and away are a little different.

Whilst away, I am really focused on variety and getting as wide an experience of a place as I can. I like to move location every couple of days rather than stay in one place. I can always go back to the best bits.

In HK, I enjoy the creative scene, especially those individuals who turn their ideas in to action and are actually making things happen. I'm part of a network in HK of female entrepreneurs who mentor others.

Always interested in the politics of real people in different places and my slightly odd fascination is dams and water generated electricity projects. I think they are amazing and have visited the major ones in Egypt, Ghana and Brazil (Making a documentary in Brazil about the impact building the dam had on local and regional communities)

I'm pretty fearless, so I'm a good person to ask along to things no-one else is comfortable doing with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in HK. It really is the most amazing city. The lights, the action, that skyline!

Wading a croc moat in Thailand - I suppose that was pretty cool, if terrifying.

Stayed with rubber tappers in the Brazilian Amazon whilst making a documentary about the economy of the country.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ouu, I love this bit!

I'm definitely happy to guide those thinking about launching their own businesses. Can give some good tips on London and Hong Kong trips.

I'd really like to learn Spanish, as 18 months overland in South America is the big dream journey and I need to start somewhere!

Countries I’ve Visited
