Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel, enjoy life and have a great time. Meet folks, talk and share recipes... I enjoy swapping stories.
ABOUT ME
Enjoy life...and living... going with the flow, enjoy all kinds of discussions. Will talk to anyone about anything. Open minded and I like to learn new things. My youngest son has traveled through Europe and China and went to Obama's inauguration. He is currently in college studying Environmental Science. My oldest son has a degree in Politics and hosts a community TV show called Unstacking the Deck about world and local politics and finance, he is currently in the Peruvian Andes teaching computer science and helping to build solar water heaters in the villages... The three of us have traveled a great deal and most recently spent 3 weeks in Morocco and Spain and just returned from 3 weeks in Peru (with my girlfriend and 3 of her 4 sons).
Lots of friends from many places who are in and around my house a great deal.
I enjoy cooking from scratch and bbqing.... I thoroughly enjoy siestas too.
Mostly... I like meeting people and have found that CS hosting is one of the best methods around.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life to enjoy it. My boys are old enough now for me to be able to travel and I'm taking advantage of it.
I've studied Buddhism and Eastern philosophy since before college and have found that it works well in my life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hosted a number of people over the past two summers when I wasn't traveling myself. Great people...every one. I enjoyed every minute of it. The people who I hosted were diverse and interesting. The discussions were thought provoking and we all had great times. I only wish I would've discovered it earlier.
Eventually I'll surf myself... maybe with you.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Looking for my first international experience. Up until now it has been on a buddies couch in college when I shouldn't drive home ... thankfully those days are over now.
Interests
Camping, travel, kids, sports, international seawater desalination, finance, alternative energy, sustainability, grey water use ...
Eastern religion and it's relationship with physics... Have you read the Tao of Physics?

Music, Movies, and Books
Mindwalk, cowboy movies, 007 and Indiana Jones... action movies, movies with a message, comedies, I just read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" and 60'6" by Bob Gibson and Reggie Jackson about baseball ... and a couple of Spanish cookbooks. Dharma Punx was a great book. I love jazz and bluegrass and blues and rock. Can't stand soft rock or smooth jazz though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think I've seen a number of amazing things but the one thing that constantly amazes me is watching children grow up into healthy and positive adults.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a good person to talk to and I usually have a very positive yet realistic perspective to things. I like to teach people that we have a good world and it's up to us to make it better one person at a time.
I'm happiest when I live by the saying... "you can't carpet the whole world... but you can wear slippers"...
I'd like to learn more about the "rest of the world" and meet people when I travel and not just stay in hotels and meet other visitors...
