Canadian-American working as an earth scientist in Iceland. I originally moved here in 2014 to do a PhD at the University of Iceland in geochemistry and am now working at an earth science research institute.

I love to do either big or small trips in Iceland or Europe. I enjoy going to a bar and having a beer and chatting. Also liking hanging out with friends playing board games or watching movies. I love the outdoors and when I can enjoy camping and hiking but also like to sit and relax at the beach and swim.

My schedule is such that it is hard for me to agree to host more weeks in advance, although you can message to check.

I have not been participating lately because of my PhD and then covid, but am interested in participating again. I had a lovely experience in Rome and also met with other couch surfers.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One moment has been when I walked into the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (and hearing the call to prayer around me). It was just so amazing to stand there and look at a sight and see the mixture of cultures/religion in a building and also see it reflected in the entire city. I remember learning about the Hagia Sophia during World History and that the teacher had been really enthusiastic, but it was so much better to see it in person.

Another amazing moment would have been going to Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. There is just such a great feeling I get when I am in the Rockie mountains and I love seeing all the lakes and walking around the park there in different trails or in downtown Banff. As much as I love the beach, I equally love the mountains and always enjoy a chance to see them.
