I’m travelling Europe with my partner Ziggy, who has come here for the first time we have little money and love meeting new people so we both answered all the questions below and hope that this brings us great experiences and happy homes. If we messaged you we would love to meet you.

Claudia: hello, my name is Claudia and I’m from a small coastal town in north Australia. I speak Italian as my family is from the island of Ischia off of Napoli where me and my partner just spent the past couple of weeks lounging on the beach and making passata. At home I work as a studio ceramicist and also make my own sculptures and crockery which I exhibit and sell as is my passion alongside Astronomy which I studied at university in Australia.

Ziggy: Hello my name is Ziggy, I am from Sydney Australia & I am a professional musician & Aerosol Artist, I play funky music at the biggest festivals in Australia touring with my band & I paint large scale Bespoke murals on commission and for the the joy of it in my free time.
Claudia and I have been travelling throughout Europe to visit the countries of our heritage, Germany & Italy.
I love meeting new people and discovering as much creative and personal Inspiration as possible to take back down under.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We exhausted our budget drinking too many aperol spritz’ to afford accommodation but overall I blame inflation. I have also travelled in the past on little money and didn’t want our financial woes to stop us from embarking on an awesome journey, some of the best times in my life were spent on the road with little money, meeting new people along the way and catching couch waves.

Music, Movies, and Books

Claudia: I am a self proclaimed book nerd with a vast comic a vinyl collection ranging from Shakespeare to Batman via graphic histories and non-fiction. I love all kinds of music, funk, soul and rock n roll. Currently on a pilgrimage through Italy to a cypress hill concert we originally thought was in rome which has left us sleeping in parks with our budget exhausted but we believe it will all be worth it because when the shit goes down you better be ready. I also have a real soft spot for French psych rock and jazzy hip hop.

Ziggy: to me there are only 2 types of music: Good music & bad music.
Personally I love Funk, Soul, Blues and Hip Hop when I’m good taste.
When it comes to books I enjoy musical biographies and spiritual stanzas about “the way of things”.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Claudia: I once managed to hitch through Europe at 19 with nothing but a coffee pot and sleeping bag and ended up living with a circus in Frankfurt. I also wrangled a 5ft python from under my pillow and I have the photos to prove it.

Ziggy: last year I played on the main stage of the biggest music festival in Australia along side several of the biggest musical acts in Australian history.
I also cut the head off of a King Brown snake when I was 10 years old to protect my mum.

Claudia: i can teach you how to hand build your own mug or bowl from clay, rip off your insurance company,
Fix your car engine or wrangle a snake.

Ziggy: I could teach you how to play the guitar or the piano, how to write a rhyme and how to climb a tree.
