I'm a spontaneous, life-loving traveler who values authentic and unusual experiences over touristy sightseeing 🗺️

From a shy kid, afraid of life, to a brave explorer, it hasn't been a straightforward journey, but all my exciting travels and the lovely people I've met have proved that I'm walking the right path!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting new people is made easy and enjoyable by this platform. Staying at hosts allows me to experience their hospitality and the local or their native culture. I love learning about the world and hearing amazing stories from cool people.

After years of just surfing, I'm finally starting to host very soon when moving to a bigger apartment!

Interests

Tried literally thousands of different craft beers since 2019, and worked in a brewery and several beer bars 🍺

I'm also very interested in the human mind and behavior. More specifically, the ways we interact with different products and services, and what makes us act the way we do. I would like to study psychology formally.

Exploring hidden gems, unusual sights, abandoned places or otherwise strange experiences is what travel is all about to me!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
My favourite band of all time is Rise Against. Their music is catchy and lyrics powerful social commentary!

On the other hand, I enjoy electronic music in all its forms. Some favourite artists are "MUZZ", "Feint", "Pegboard Nerds" and "ellis".

Books:
Usually I read non-fiction books about topics that fascinate me. "The Design of Everyday Things" by Donald Norman led me to study design and pursue it as a career. Recently I read a book about food (or the lack of thereof) in totalitarian countries, which was very insightful (though obviously grim).

From fictional books I could name John Grisham's "Sycamore Row" and J.K. Rowling's "Christmas Pig"!

Movies:
Anything goes, except for cliché American action movies and cheesy romantic comedies. Though in good company I might watch those, too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's hard to pick just one...
- Photographed riots in France and won a honorable mention in an international photo competition with one of the photos
- Hitchhiked through (almost) whole Finland
- Hitchhiked (almost) all the way from Finland to Serbia for the Testicle Cooking World Cup
- Served at the Office of the President of the Republic Finland during my time in the conscript service.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you say "I don't like beer", I'll be happy to prove you wrong, like I've done to many before you! I'll be your beer teacher.

I can also teach you some Finnish tongue-twisters 🇫🇮

Listing all the things I would like to learn would take far too long, so let's just say that I'm open to learn anything!
